Frequently Asked Questions
How exactly does it work?
It's simple! Just highlight any text on a webpage that contains event details (like "Team Meeting tomorrow at 3pm EST"). Then, right-click and select "Add to Google Calendar". Our AI analyzes the text, extracts the details, and opens a pre-filled Google Calendar event creation page for you to review and save.
Is this extension free to use?
Yes, Text to Calendar is completely free to install and use.
Is my data secure and private?
Absolutely. Your privacy is our top priority. The text you highlight is sent securely to our AI for processing and is immediately discarded after the event details are extracted. We do not store, log, or share the content of your selected text. For a complete breakdown, please read our full Privacy Policy.
Does the extension work with different time zones?
Yes. Our AI is designed to detect time zones (like EST, PST, GMT, etc.) within the text. It also uses your browser's local time zone as a reference to ensure the event is scheduled correctly on your calendar, no matter where you are.
Which calendars are supported?
Currently, we exclusively support Google Calendar. We are exploring support for other calendar services in the future.
Why do you need permission to access my Google Calendar?
To create an event on your behalf, we use Google's secure authentication system. We request the minimum possible permission, which only allows our extension to create new events. We cannot read, see, modify, or delete any of your existing calendar events.
Does it work with languages other than English?
Our AI is primarily optimized for English at the moment. While it may work with some common date and time phrases in other languages, performance will vary. We are actively working to improve multi-language support.
